Smoky the Bear

My nephew asked in a previous post if I worked with Smoky the Bear. I can proudly say that yes I do. I have the opportunity to work with him several times a year. One is during our annual Health Days celebration and on many a wildland fire. I just wanted to show you the proof that I did. Here is Smokey on one of his visits to the station showing off on one of the firefighter's motorcycles.

Thomas Type I Team

Looks like I am going to have some fun this year. I made it as a trainee on Thomas' Type I Incident Management Team. The nice thing about being on a type I team as they are active all year long. Type II's only work during the busy season. No worry though as I will not be slated to go out as part of the team until team meetings are over next month.
